We’re seeking a future team member for the role of SVP, Audit Project Leader (Counterparty Credit Risk) to join our Audit team. This role is located in New York, NY and Pittsburgh, PA - HYBRID.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways: 

  • Oversees risk-focused audit activities, in accordance with Internal Audit policies, methodologies, and standards to identify meaningful issues, risks and other exposures in areas being audited.
  • Collaborating with Audit Leadership team to determine and prioritize regulatory priorities and business strategies.
  • Functions as a subject matter expert for counterparty credit related audits and regulatory issue validations
  • Working as an “in-charge” on audits and/or regulatory validations related to counterparty credit risk. 
  • Strong project management skills creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines.
  • Providing senior leaders with insight and analysis on key aspect of the CCR framework including potential future exposure (PFE), wrong way risk (WWR), stress testing, credit limits, borrower ratings, etc. 
  • Familiar with regulatory requirements including SR 11-10: Interagency Counterparty Credit Risk Management Guidance
  • Has demonstrated ability to explain technical/complex issues to non-technical audiences and is adept at applying logical, well-constructed arguments to persuade and influence others to adopt a new point of view. 
  • Providing Senior Management with recommendations and consultation to improve reimagine audit processes and practices. 
  • Identifies inconsistencies with the control environment, regulatory requirements and best practices and initiates the development of a structure or solution to address the issue(s).
  • Working with relevant stakeholders to deliver, monitor and communicate progress towards goals.
  • Identifying and providing recommendations on improvements across the organization
  • Identifies opportunities for the use of automation and makes recommendations for software support requests.
  • No direct reports. Demonstrates leadership through work guidance and training of less experienced peers and through advice to assigned clients.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
    • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant critical thinking specialty such as MIS, DIS, Computer Science, Mathematics preferred. 
    • MBA, CPA, CFA or related certifications preferred. 
    • Modelers - Advanced degree (PhD) in Math, Statistics, Physics, Economics or Engineering preferred. 
  • 10-12 years of total work experience preferred
  • Prior experience in Audit or the relevant specialty area preferred. 
  • Additional core skill requirements include understanding of the applied and interpretation of analytics results for Audit, critical thinking and problem solving.

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $119,000 and $195,500 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.

This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
