Starting Salary Range: $102,744- $139,788

Job Summary: The Manager, Information Technology (IT) will report to the Assistant Vice President, Information Technology and is responsible for the lifecycle management of all supporting services, infrastructure, and telecommunications that enable the delivery of all IT services throughout the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA). 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Leads Information Technology (IT) infrastructure staff. Evaluates performance, provides feedback for training and development purposes. Presents ideas to upskill staff for future growth. Issues corrective action when appropriate and according to policy.
  • Manages IT infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers, storage and backup infrastructure, and Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN).
  • Evaluates and develops approaches for improving the IT infrastructure and optimizes business processes.
  • Creates business architecture models that align with the organization's strategies and goals.
  • Collaborates with the information security team to ensure alignment between the security and enterprise architectures.
  • Manages the design, implementation, and communication of business continuance and disaster recovery plans and processes that ensure the security and integrity of company data, information systems, and technology.
  • Builds strong partnerships with external vendors who support the Authority’s Information Technology (IT) and Operation Technology (OT) systems. Setting clear expectations by ensuring contracts are in place to support the services provided, negotiating access agreements, establishing service level agreements, and ensuring they are adhered to.
  • Evaluates system engineering, talent and cost control models for discrepancies and vulnerabilities.
  • Manages telecommunications support functions including telephone services.
  • Enforces telephone equipment and service vendor contractual agreements and coordinates external PBX and cellular support resources.
  • Manages telecommunications vendors, service providers and associated contracts.
  • Conducts audits and needs assessments to identify and document telecommunications usage for MNAA.
  • Coordinates billing and service functions for the telecommunications service center, including basic telephone services, local and long distance charges, and cellular telecommunications services.
  • Presents ideas to control costs in IT and other functional areas.
  • Creates and maintains methods for change control and management.
  • Sets and maintains standards for enterprise business systems and technologies, including application deployment approaches (e.g., cloud, on premise, hybrid, etc.); systems documentation requirements; databases, operating systems; system interfaces; networking, communications, cabling, etc.; hardware and storage (servers, workstations, etc.); software development.
  • Establishes, maintains and enforces network security policies, standards and processes while aligning with defined industry standards (e.g. NIST, PCI).
  • Defines approach to data governance, data storage and meta-data management.
  • Develops and oversees framework for defining, tracking and analyzing IT’s KPIs (key performance indicators).
  • Supports business case development and benefits realization plans for IT-related projects.
  • Mobile device management such as tablets, smart phones, and laptops.
  • Keeps abreast of emerging technology trends and their potential impact on airport operations.
  • Develops information technology project solution by formulating objectives; planning project life-cycle deliverables and resource availability and application; preparing installation and modification specifications; leading the exploration, evaluation, and design of technical solutions.
  • Assists with disseminating knowledge on emerging technology trends to IT and functional stakeholders.
  • Enforces network and system security policies to ensure infrastructure is not compromised.
  • Vendor management, project management, contract management, financial management, or related experience
  • Some after hours work as needed for on-call activities and/or planned maintenance.
  • Maintains regular and on-time attendance.
  • Follows all safety regulations.
  • Supports MNAA's commitment to its culture and values, including Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence (RISE).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Cisco: Skill in managing Cisco network hardware.
  • Mobile Device Management: Knowledge of processes for mobile device management such as tablets, smart phones, and laptops.
  • Telecommunications: Knowledge of telecommunication products and services available for data communication.
  • Network Infrastructures: Skill in configuring hierarchical network infrastructures.
  • Servers and Networks: Knowledge of LAN/WAN systems configuration, implementation, and administration.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secure Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge.

Qualifications: 

Required: 

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field of study
  • 5-7 years of relevant work experience with minimum of high school diploma or equivalent may be considered in lieu of educational requirement. 
  • 2-4 years experience in a leadership role in Information Technology
  • Valid Class D Drivers License 

Preferred: 

  • CompTIA A , Network , Security , or equivalent certifications
