Job Title: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (Contract)

Location: Eureka, CA

Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Day shift, 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Surgical Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team on a 13-week contract basis in Eureka, CA. As a vital member of our medical staff, you will provide exceptional care to patients in the medical-surgical unit, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being throughout their stay. The day shift runs from 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM offering an opportunity for you to make a positive impact during the daytime hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Provide direct patient care, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring: Monitor patients' conditions and vital signs, and report any significant changes to the attending physician.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician, ensuring accurate dosage and compliance with medication protocols.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed medical records of patient care, including nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment plans, and self-care techniques to promote wellness and prevent complications.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and allied health professionals, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
  • Support: Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families, addressing their concerns and providing guidance as needed.
  • Safety: Adhere to infection control protocols, safety regulations, and quality assurance standards to promote a safe and healing environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.
  • Experience: Previous experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred, but new graduates with a strong clinical background will also be considered.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
  • Skills: Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills; ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team Player: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve common goals and deliver exceptional patient care.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work day shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed to meet the needs of our patient population.

Job Types: Travel nursing, Contract

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
