BlueWater Federal is looking for a Sr Network Engineer to support U.S. Fleet Forces Command (USFF) Headquarters (HQ).
Responsibilities- Conduct high-level technical support for Video Teleconferencing/voice/data network systems, create and maintain network documentation, maintains hardware and software standards, and works projects as needed in order to upgrade to new and/or improved communication equipment and procedures.
- Perform hands-on configuration of CISCO IOS on Cisco routers, switches and firewalls.
- Analyze network activity and network problems to discover and prevent systematic errors. Provide support for network connectivity or related network issues for the command. Recommend network design changes/enhancements for improved systems availability and performance.
- Plan and monitor the installation/upgrades of network equipment and associated infrastructure.

- Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve network problems. Research, analyze and recommend the implementation of software or hardware changes to rectify any network deficiencies or to enhance network performance.
- Analyze facilities bandwidth requirements and system interdependencies. Develop capacity planning models.
- Perform planned testing activities and ensure technical criteria are met.
- Assess network performance to ensure that it meets the present and future needs of the command. Provide network planning recommendations to management
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, engineering, computer science or other related field and 2 years of related experience, or AA/AS related field or Computer Network Administration Certification and 6 years of related experience. In lieu of formal education, 10 years experience specifically related to the below qualification requirements.
- Thorough knowledge of the Defense Information Systems Agency published Security Technical Information Guidance (requirements and implementation/compliance process.
- Knowledge of CND compliance requirements for all managed networks and systems.
- Strong working familiarity with Cisco IOS, EIGRP, BGP, GRE, IPS/IDS, TACACS , ACS and OSPF, with demonstrated hands-on experience configuring Cisco routers, switches and firewalls.
- Must be well versed with the advanced engineering and administration of multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices and network management systems.
- Must have a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or have the ability obtain one within twelve (12) month time period.
