This position will have a focus on payroll accounting, including tax filing, general ledger and payroll account reconciliation. The position may also assist with general payroll processing activities, including but not limited to, generating on demand check requests, third party vendor account reconciliations, and union dues administration.

• Familiarity with full cycle payroll processing.

• Federal and State quarterly tax filing and payment requirements.
• Pretax and Post-tax earnings and deductions for correct taxing and wage reporting.
• Payroll Accounting issues for reconciliations of the general ledger.
• Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for governments.

• Filing quarterly tax reports.
• Reconciling Payroll tax payments to the general ledger and book journal entries.
• Reconciling Bi-weekly Payroll Reports to quarterly 941s and annual W-2s.
• Use of spreadsheet, payroll software.

• Research and reconciliation of payroll taxes from prior periods.

• Previous experience using SAP Payroll software preferred.
