Bluestem PACE is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Life Enrichment Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with our Recreational Therapist to develop and implement a participant-centered activity program. This program is designed to meet the physical, mental, and psychosocial needs of our participants, primarily those aged 55 and older. Our company prides itself on providing a nurturing and engaging environment for our participants, and we are looking for someone who can contribute to this mission.

Essential Job Functions:

• Supervise and implement stimulating and engaging activities for participants in our Day Center or Alternative Care Setting.
• Maintain close contact with participants to ensure their social, emotional, and spiritual needs are met.
• Assist participants with individual and group activities such as arts and crafts, exercise, games, music events, bingo, baking, trivia, and holiday events.
• Stay informed about current federal, state, and professional regulations and standards, and assist in developing policies and procedures when necessary.
• Complete required paperwork for each participant and maintain records as required by State and Federal regulations.
• Evaluate participants' participation in activities on a daily and monthly basis.
• Read and follow care plans used in providing daily activities for the participants.
• Document care in the participant’s medical record consistent with documentation policies and workflows.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Prior experience working with the elderly within an activity program is required.
• Ability to work with participants at all levels of mental and physical functioning.
• Must demonstrate patience and a cheerful disposition with participants, staff, and visitors.
