BlueScope Buildings is Hiring a Material handler 3rd Near Saint Joseph, MO
Job Description
Under limited supervision, the Material Handler 3 works independently and uses advanced skills and independent judgment to plan and build external trailer loads by calculating the best product fit and operating forklift, side-loader, combi-lift or other mobile equipment.
The Material Handler 3 also uses a yard spotter truck to position loaded or empty trailers in yard, loading bays, and staging areas.
Qualifications
In addition to complying with all safety, environmental, quality, and core policies, and contributing to the company’s Zero Harm and Zero Defects commitment, the following briefly describes the 3 to 6 primary activities (not all activities) that are regularly performed, and the approximate percentage of time annually devoted to each (equals 100%).
- Plan and build loads of materials and products onto flatbed trailers to ensure safe over-the-road transportation. 70% of job.
- staging areas. 10% of job.
- Complete all necessary paperwork and transactions, including scanning requirements. 5% of job.
- Actively participates in continuous improvement and corrective action activities. 10% of job.
- Perform housekeeping, 5-S, and other duties as assigned. 5% of job.
