Technicians are required to fully assist the practitioners, to help improve the quality of care given to the patients. Technician duties include examinations, assisting in surgery, performing dental cleanings, and require knowledge on preventative medications, disease transmission and patient care management.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Assists the doctors with sterilization and other routine surgeries.Perform x-rays and dental cleanings on cats and dogs.Assists doctors by gathering patient histories.Calculate and administer medication and injections (IV, SQ, IM)Acquire samples including blood and perform in-house diagnostics.Create, update, and maintain patient medical records.Administer vaccinationsClean and disinfects cages, treatment areas, and rooms as needed.Implant Microchips under the guidance of the Veterinarian.Restrain animals as needed.Perform Digital Radiographs.Provide a Fear Free environment for the patients.Maintain inventory and upkeep of their work areas.Provide an excellent overall patient experience.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:High School Diploma/GED required.Minimum of 1 year of experience as a veterinary technician.Experience with performing routine dental proceduresAble to perform dental radiographs as needed.Knowledgeable in core veterinary medicine.Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills required.Able to work with all Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Teams.Physical Requirements:Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.This position is labor-intensive; moderate to great physical exertion is required; including bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching above/below the waist, pushing/pulling movements, lifting, walking, sitting, and standing and in conditions involving temperature fluctuations.Must work with cleaning solvents.Must have reliable transportation.Ability to work directly with both cats and dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperament.Position Schedule:40 hours per week.
