BluePearl Specialty Emergency Pet Hospital is hiring Credentialed Veterinary Technicians and Experienced Veterinary Assistants for our hospitals located in Birmingham, Alabama!

We provide competitive compensation and generous overnight and weekend differentials.

Below are the positions we are hiring for:

• Veterinary Technician- Emergency ICU Swing Weekends (Part-Time); Saturday-Sunday, 3:00 pm-1:00 am.
• Veterinary Technician- Emergency ICU Night (Full-Time); Weekdays, Monday-Friday : 8:00 pm - 8:00 am or Weekends, Friday-Sunday: 8:00 pm-8:00 am.

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 / hour

• This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our CareerTrax leveling system.
• Night and Swing positions qualify for additional shift differential pay, between $3.00-$4.50 more per hour!

As a Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Client education, gathering histories and communicating that to the Clinician.
• Perform physical exam; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
• Understand normal vital parameters
• Place IVC's and advanced catheters like Jugular catheters, Central Lines or PICC lines.
• Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors.
• Restrain patients during consults and during diagnostics.
• Triage and identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR
• Perform specialized treatment and procedures.
• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia.
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Monitor and care for ventilator cases.
• Perform callbacks and refill medications.
• Work alongside other skilled technicians and assistants in providing excellent, advanced medicine to your patients.
• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
