WE ARE OFFERING A $3,000 SIGN-ON BONUS FOR QUALIFIED TECHNICIANS!

The schedule for this role would be first shift (5a-3p), second shift (2p-12a), or third shift (8p-6a).

Our Southfield team is highly skilled and has access to state-of-the-art equipment and diagnostic tools. Our 38,000-square-foot hospital has onsite MRI, CT, a linear accelerator, an endolaser and digital radiography. We focus exclusively on emergency treatment and advanced specialty veterinary care. Our departments include: ER, Behavioral Medicine, Cardiology, Critical Care, Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, and Surgery.

Our BluePearl Emergency Veterinary Technicians:

  • Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
  • Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
  • Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
  • Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
  • Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
  • Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
  • Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
  • Place and maintain feeding tubes.
  • Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
  • Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.

Pay: $23.00 - $44.00 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through the CareerTrax leveling system.

** Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience**

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.

Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.

For example:

  • Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $3.50 Shift Differential
  • Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.00 Shift Differential
  • Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $3.50 Shift Differential
