Job Summary: 

As the Director of Education & Field Training, you will lead the creation, development and execution of the beauty education program for our stores. The role involves driving sales and imparting knowledge and enthusiasm about our company, brands and products to in-store teams and beauty experts. We are looking for a high-energy, proactive, educational leader with a client-centric and business mindset. It’s imperative for this role to be a creative, critical thinker who can develop educational assets to encourage conversions across our channels. Your role will be multifaceted, involving both strategic planning and hands-on execution to ensure that the field education and training initiatives align with the company's goals and enhance the client experience.

Key Responsibilities: 

Curriculum and Training Materials Creation: 

  • Build comprehensive educational programs that cover various aspects of beauty, product knowledge, selling techniques, luxury client telling, spa services and utilization, and retail operations
  • Work closely with our merchants and brand partners, develop, and implement educational content and unique learning experiences to enhance our colleagues’ product knowledge, ability to drive sales and increase client conversion
  • Design education materials that cater to all learning styles – including manuals, videos and presentations that complement and support our education programs

Team Training:

  • Strategize and implement training sessions for store colleagues, including beauty experts and store managers, to ensure they have in-depth product knowledge and can provide excellent client service 
  • Oversee and lead the new hire onboarding process, and new store opening trainings
  • Manage additional projects, deliverables and timelines as needed

Leadership and Team Management: 

  • Leading a team of educators, trainers, and support staff, provide guidance, motivation, and mentorship
  • Set clear goals, delegate tasks, and foster a collaborative work environment to drive success
  • Develop and maintain strong, credible relationships with all levels of the field organization 
  • Encourage and foster a store environment conducive to personal and sales growth 

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive education strategy aligned with the company’s overall business objectives
  • Work closely and cross-functionally with the appropriate partners from concept to execution 
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to integrate education initiatives into broader business plans and initiatives. 
  • Cultivate merchant and vendor partnerships to develop brand sales and education
  • Use data and analytics to help inform the education program and strategy 

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience with 8-10 years in education, training leadership or related roles within the beauty industry.
  • Proven leadership experience, with a track record of driving results and leading high-performing teams.
  • Experience building brand and product training curriculum, with the ability to implement impactful training experiences.
  • Strong skills in curriculum development, instructional design, and adult learning principles are crucial for creating effective educational programs.
  • Experience in designing training materials, conducting workshops, and evaluating learning outcomes is beneficial.
  • Ability to demonstrate and motivate teams through hands-on execution.
  • Capability to think strategically, with a deep understanding of the current beauty industry trends.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are vital for success.
  • Ability to travel up to 60%.
