Responsibilities

Seeking a skilled Software Engineer with experience or working knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming and Modeling and Simulation development. Applicant will participate in the development and maintenance of software simulation and analysis tools to support the modeling of directed energy systems, assessment of military utility, and wargaming in a collaborative small team environment.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• This position requires the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires a U.S. Citizenship
• BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline
• 1-5 years of experience with Objected Oriented Programming in C
• Coursework and/or experience in Probability and Statistics
• Must be able to work as a software engineer in a team environment performing/assisting with requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, documentation, peer review and maintenance of C applications.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with the AFSIM architecture and AFSIM plugins
• Experience with software engineering utilizing Agile processes
• Experience with Test Driven Development
• Experience working with the following Software Development Tools
• Git Version Control (i.e. Azure, Github, bitbucket, Gitlab)
• Windows (Visual Studios, VirtualBox)
• Linux (GDB, Redhat/CentOS)
• CMake
• Google Test
• Python
• QT
• This is a semi-autonomous position. Be self-sufficient and self-motivated to research and solve nebulous requirements and bugs.
• Good technical writing skills. Be able to explain to the end user how the software works. Capture requirements, feedback, and bugs and document in software backlog.
• Good communication skills. Be able to explain concepts. Give and receive feedback
• Coursework and/or experience in Discrete Math
