• Assist with front desk duties, such as answering the phone, scheduling appointments and verifying insurance information
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that all equipment is properly sterilized and maintained
• Perform basic administrative tasks, such as filing patient records and processing medical billing
• Perform preliminary testing on patients, including documenting medical history
• Prepare patients for examinations by the optometrist, including preliminary testing and explaining procedures
• Assist with contact lens fittings
• Assist with frame selection and eyeglass measurements
• Basic housekeeping duties such as cleaning windows, emptying trash, cleaning bathrooms
• Other duties as assigned: ideal candidate will be adaptive to new duties as assigned

• Pleasant demeaner and professional appearance
• Proficient in the English language,( necessary for documenting medical history)
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
• Basic familiarity with medical office procedures and protocols
• Experience using electronic medical record systems (e.g., CrystalPM)
• Basic computer proficiency (typing, scanning, sending email documents)
• Understanding of aseptic technique for maintaining cleanliness and preventing infection
• Knowledge of optometric/ophthalmology procedures and equipment
• Familiarity with medical billing processes
• Self-starter, does not need constant supervision to complete assigned tasks

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.25 per hour

Expected hours: 26 – 30 per week
