Position: Senior Database Developer
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Local to Minneapolis candidates only - Candidate will be required to be onsite 1-2 days/week
Length of Engagement: Through December 31, 2023, with high likelihood of extension
Hours/Week: 40 hours
Rate: $60-$70 per hour

Scope of Services:

The Senior Database Developer will play a pivotal role in the management and enhancement of SQL Server databases, focusing on versions 2017, 2019, and 2022. This role primarily involves development and optimization of SQL scripts, including SSIS packages and stored procedures. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with operational and data warehouse systems, utilizing AI code generators for Powershell and SQL to streamline processes and drive efficiency. The position requires a combination of on-site and remote work, with a strong emphasis on effective communication, flexibility, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Role, Responsibilities and Deliverables:

• Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL scripts, stored procedures, and SSIS packages in SQL Server 2017/2019/2022.
• Collaborate with operational and data warehouse systems to ensure seamless data flow and integration.
• Utilize AI code generators for Powershell and SQL to automate and enhance database processes.
• Participate in performance tuning, troubleshooting, and query optimization.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and contribute to database design and architecture.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with best practices.
• Contribute to the development of data-driven solutions and assist in database-related decision-making.
• Provide expertise in SQL Server database administration and development.
• Take ownership of database-related projects and deliverables.
• Maintain clear documentation of database processes, procedures, and configurations.
• Collaborate with colleagues, sharing knowledge and providing mentorship where needed.

Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA/Developer, with a strong focus on SQL Server 2017/2019/2022.
• Proven expertise in SQL script development, including SSIS and stored procedures.
• Experience with AI code generators for Powershell and SQL.
• Strong understanding of database design, performance tuning, and query optimization.
• Ability to work both on-site and remotely, with flexibility in work hours and direction.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Contract-to-hire possibilities.
