    SUMMARY: Administers educational evaluations and assists in determining eligibility for special education.
    • The job of Educational Diagnostician reports to the Building Principal and Assistant Superintendent of Special Education
    • This is a Part Time position limited to 17 hours per week
    • The hourly rate of pay is $35 per hour for this position.
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
    Develop an evaluation plan for initials and re-evaluations.
    • Administers initial and ongoing cognitive, early learning, academic, adaptive behavior, and social-emotional assessments.
    • Works collaboratively with other assessment personnel, such as speech-language pathologist, occupational therapists, physical therapists, process coordinators to determine Missouri eligibility for special education.
    • Work collaboratively with the building team.
    • Provides input to the IEP team regarding student's academic strengths and weaknesses based upon assessments.
    • Interprets results of assessments to parents, teachers and administrators Assist with in service training and attend workshops when requested.
    • Develop and monitor schedules for re-evaluations and annual IEP meetings in order to be in compliance.
    • Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner Assist with in service training and attend workshops when requested.
    • Assist with organization of IEP/evaluation meetings, i.e., writing the evaluation report, contacting participants, preparing facilities, assisting with all paperwork.
    • Participate as the Local Education Agency Representative when requested.
    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATES:
    • Master's Degree Required and must have one of the following certifications: Valid Missouri Special Education Teaching Certificate, Guidance Counseling, School Psychological Examiner and/or School Psychologist.
    • Salary will be commensurate with background, education and experience.

    Employment in this position is contingent upon consent to and successful completion of a pre-employment background check, which may include a criminal background check, reference checks, verification of work history, and verification of any required academic credentials, licenses, and/or certifications, with results acceptable to the Blue Springs School District.
