Plant Engineer

Our client, a major player in the health and dietary industry, is looking to hire a Plant Engineer to spearhead operations at one of their key facilities. This role is integral to the company’s vision of optimizing operational performance, improving product quality, and ensuring safety and regulatory standards are met with excellence.

The Plant Engineer collaborates closely with the Operations Team to enhance product quality, production rates, yield, and plant efficiency. This role is responsible for overseeing capital projects, owning the Process Safety Management Program, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Focus:

• Manage and coordinate contracted work for the implementation of Capital Projects, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to engineering specifications.
• Develop and oversee pre-startup plan actions, including the Process Safety Management Program, regulatory compliance, and commissioning/startup plan.
• Identify facility projects to enhance efficiencies, safety, decrease costs, and improve yields.
• Coordinate with production staff to schedule facility outages or additional staffing as needed for project implementation.
• Optimize plant operations in collaboration with the Operations Team, utilizing historical data and operator knowledge.
• Identify bottleneck areas and implement solutions to improve efficiencies and reduce product loss.
• Serve as the Subject Matter Expert on plant process controls systems, recommending technology improvements and leading process improvement projects.
• Lead the site’s OSHA Process Safety Management Program, ensuring adherence to all program elements.
• Support troubleshooting efforts for production issues and participate in off-hours on-call rotations.

Skill Set:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering and 3-7 years of related experience in hexane extraction process plant required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for presentations to various stakeholders.
• Proficiency in spreadsheet software and basic word processing, with experience in researching and accessing information online.
• Supervisory experience preferred, with the ability to interview, hire, train, and manage employees.
