We are seeking NYS Certified Reading Specialists to provide direct reading instruction for General and Special Education students during the school day and/or afterschool.

Position Overview:

• Provide General and/or Special Education direct instruction to meet the needs of students as outlined in the student’s IEP, curriculum.
• Maintain data collection and recordings of student progress.
• Evaluate student progress and update programming in accordance with IEP by selecting appropriate methods and materials for classroom/home instruction in specialized reading instruction.
• Exhibit professional behavior towards students, families, coworkers, school personnel and supervisors.

Requirements:

• NYS Reading/Literacy Specialist
• NYS Special Education Certified (K-12, Grades 1-6, or Grades 7-12)
• Trained or certified in Orton Gillingham programs such as: Wilson Level 1, SPIRE, Seeing Stars, Sonday, Lindamood Bell, IMSE, OG Educator, OG associate, and OG Certified
• Previous professional experience providing in home and/or in school academic instruction preferred
