Job Description

The primary function of the Quality Control Technician is to perform quality checks of the product and to support all quality department related activities.

  • Perform daily QC checks. (perform by operators) spot check.
  • Perform Quality Plan data entry.
  • Place non-conforming material on hold as needed.
  • Perform ongoing testing for research and development.
  • Paint trial assistance and related quality testing
  • Weathering testing
  • Knowledge of Power-Points and Excel Spreadsheets
  • Wet section titrations and records keeping
  • Perform roll changes on pretreat coater heads
  • Organize and maintain production run hard copies for each color run
  • Inspect material being produced on the paint line
  • Record defects found in material on shift defect sheet
  • Communicate with shift supervisor and operators when adjustments need made
  • Maintain certificates for ISO calibration vendors
  • Personnel training as needed (example-spill drill)
  • Spill clean-up if needed.
  • Archive samples. (When needed)
  • Assist the Quality Engineer on projects and aspects of the quality management system.
  • Environmental inventory (monthly)
  • Other duties assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Required Education / Skills: High School Education or GED required, good communication skills, basic math skills.

Minimum Required Experience: 1 year experience in a plant/factory. Previous experience using measuring equipment required.

Equipment / Tools Used: Computer system, various computer programs, Oracle database, dry film gauge, wet film gauge, viscosity cup, pH meter (if needed), profile gauge, gloss meter, scales and balances, etc. Calibration equipment. Metal shear. Waste disposal and clean-up equipment's. Forms and records.
