Blue Ridge Power is Hiring a Quality Assurance Technician I Near Asheville, NC

Blue Ridge Power is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician II who will represent Blue Ridge Power's quality program on the job site. This person will ensure that the quality standards are met throughout all construction phases. They will work closely with the Quality Site Manager to conduct inspections of civil, mechanical, and electrical work. This person will work on-site on solar projects for mid-term and long-term assignments including out-of-state projects. They will work directly with the construction team, subcontractors, and customers to ensure that all components in the PV System are installed per design. This position is designated as a safety-sensitive position.

Site-states include but are not limited to: North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, Texas, Nebraska, and Michigan.

What You'll Do

  • Work under the guidance of the Quality Site Manager to execute the site Quality Plans.
  • Perform civil, mechanical, and electrical inspections throughout all phases of construction to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Identify and record all nonconformance in the Construction Management Software (CMS).
  • Complete daily inspection reports, record and document inspection results, and ensure reports and photos are uploaded to the Construction Management System software.
  • Assist with project level quality reports by collecting and summarizing data.
  • Assist team members with all Quality tasks.
  • Support and participate in continuous learning and development with on-the-job and classroom training.
  • Provide on-the-job training for members of the quality and construction team.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Must-Haves

  • 1 years of verifiable quality assurance and/or construction experience.
  • OSHA 10
  • Current and valid driver's license
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Strong work ethic and desire to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to travel and be on-call during off-shift hours and weekends.
  • Experience with Office 365. (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Experience working with a cloud-based construction management system. (i.e., Procore, Oracle Primavera Cloud, etc.)
  • Knowledge of transmission scale construction principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with medium voltage fundamentals, utility, overhead and pole equipment.
  • Ability to interpret construction, structural, and electrical drawings.
  • Ability to read and understand manufacturing equipment standards.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Associate degree in related field and/or equivalent education.
  • Experience in the Solar industry.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and vendors.
  • NABCEP PV Associate Certification
  • NFPA 70E
  • OSHA 30

Working Environment and Physical Demand

  • 100% travel to assigned project(s) - this role requires flexibility in traveling to multiple states.
  • Ability to receive and execute tasks delegated by a more senior technician, all while being able to recognize potential safety concerns, and maintaining a good attitude.
  • Must be able to comply with all company safety standards and procedures including OSHA requirements.
  • Complete OSHA training as required.
  • Must follow organization policies and procedures.
  • Individuals in this position work in an outdoor environment and must be able to tolerate all climates.
  • Must be able to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, or walk short to long distances for 8-10 hours a day.
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
