Blue Ridge Industries, Inc. is Hiring a Tool technician Near Winchester, VA

Blue Ridge Industries, Inc. (BRI) is seeking an experienced and motivated Tool Repair Technician to add to its current Plastic Injection Molding team.

The Tool Repair Technician is responsible for preparing and maintaining molds for production per the ERP system. This position repairs and maintains molds in optimal condition.

In addition, the tech will be responsible for initial inspection of arriving molds, troubleshooting mold wear and hot runner defects, cleaning, movement, and organization of molds to and from storage.

The tech must be meticulous, able to work independently, and have strong mechanical aptitude.

KEY JOB TASKS / DUTIES :

  • Inspect, complete paperwork, and enter information needed into the ERP system for incoming molds.
  • Prepare molds and enter information needed into the ERP system for outgoing shipments.
  • Perform routine preventive and / or corrective maintenance on all molds as per schedule.
  • Be able to evaluate the condition of molds, identify repairs, and enter relevant information into the ERP system.
  • Fabricate replacement parts for molds, as needed.
  • Be able to assist with setting molds in presses to initiate production or assist with molding processes if needed.
  • Keep mold racks clean and organized, as well as help maintain stock levels of spare parts inventory.
  • Complete daily inspections of mold shop equipment.
  • Change date codes and / or inserts in molds as required.

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS :

Education

Must have High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have knowledge and practical experience in machine operations, high precision machining, measuring techniques, and understand tool / mold builds, including hot runner systems.

Must be able to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating manuals, technical drawings, and maintenance instructions to troubleshoot issues with little to no supervision.

Must have some experience with computers and Microsoft Office. Experience with entering data into an ERP system is desirable.

Language Skills

Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently. Must be able to perform basic math skills and be able to effectively use measurement instruments to satisfy job duties.

Must understand and be able to comprehend Blue Ridge Industries’ Quality Policy.

Environmental Conditions

Must be able to stand for lengthy periods of time. Individuals may be exposed to wet, hot, cold, and / or humid conditions and must be able to adapt accordingly.

Must always adhere to safety regulations.

Equipment Usage

Physical Activity

Must be able to walk, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and have fine-motor skills to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.

Must be able to lift a minimum of 25lbs, occasionally may be required to lift up to 50 lbs.

Vision Requirements

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Pay and Benefits :

Hourly pay is competitive and commensurate with experience. BRI offers nine (9) paid company holidays with a competitive vacation policy.
