We are currently seeking a seasoned QA Engineer with a strong background in web application testing and quality assurance strategies. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in creating and implementing comprehensive quality plans, coordinating testing activities, and using automated testing tools and methodologies. This role is critical to ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable web applications that meet both our company standards and user expectations.

Please note that this position is not remote and requires commuting to our Chantilly, VA office. This position also requires a security clearance (either existing or you must meet the requirements to be submitted for one).

Your Role

As a QA Engineer at our company, you will be the cornerstone of ensuring the quality and reliability of our web-based applications. You'll develop and execute a cohesive strategy for quality coordination and testing, encompassing both manual and automated approaches. Your expertise in automated testing tools and methodologies will enable us to maintain high standards of quality and efficiency, reducing bugs and enhancing user satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive quality assurance strategies and test plans for web-based applications.
  • Coordinate with development and product teams to identify system requirements and integrate quality assurance considerations early in the development lifecycle.
  • Design, develop, and execute automation scripts using open source and commercial testing tools.
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs through to resolution.
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
  • Manage and conduct manual and automated testing, including functional, system, and performance tests to meet quality standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies, and evaluate innovative technologies that can enhance product quality and testing efficiency.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Generate metrics and reports on the status and progress of testing activities and quality indicators

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven work experience (min 3 years) as a QA Engineer or similar role with a focus on web-based applications.
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Cypress, Selenium, TestComplete, or similar).
  • Experience with various testing levels (system testing, integration testing, functional testing, etc.) and regression testing.
  • Familiarity with software development process and Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
