Blue Origin is Hiring a (SLD) Senior RF Communications Engineer - Lunar Permanence (R39013) Near Denver, CO

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our diverse team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for transporting crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. Our MK2 Crew Lander mission will demonstrate the lander’s core capabilities – including the privately funded BE-7 landing engine, precision landing sensors, and integrated power and propulsion architecture – as a precursor to certifying the vehicle for use by NASA as part of the Artemis lunar exploration program. The team building this vehicle is rethinking how space systems are designed, with a high-performance architecture, efficient reusability, and rapid design iteration. Join our team and pave the road to a permanent lunar presence!

As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will apply standard engineering techniques to research, develop design, analyze, and test electrical components, equipment, software systems, and networks. Responsible for releasing and producing the electronic subsystems used to monitor, communicate with, and control launch vehicles, spacecraft, satellites, and ground support systems.

We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, communication skills, and dedication to quality to impact safe human spaceflight positively. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

  • Provide technical consultation to other members of the team in analyzing/optimizing antenna designs for specific radio links
  • Represent Blue Origin in customer forums and executive engagements as needed, based on human space vehicle and space station flight experience

About Blue Origin

Blue Origin was founded in 2000 by Jeff Bezos with the vision to enable a future where millions of people are living and working in space to benefit Earth. Blue believes we must protect Earth by moving heavy industries that stress our planet into space, and enable humanity to access space to expand, explore, and find new energy and material resources. Then we can see a dynamic and abundant future for our grandchildrens grandchildren. There is no plan B for Earth. To enable this future, we must build a road to space to lower the cost of getting there. Blue is working on this today by developing... operationally reusable launch vehicles that are safe, reliable and highly available. Every launch vehicle is designed for human spaceflight from the beginning and able to ferry payloads to space. Join the mission to build a road to space - step by step ferociously. #GradatimFerociter More
