Blue Origin is Hiring a Finance Analyst I - New Glenn (R37985) Near Seattle, WA

As part of a hardworking team of finance professionals, you will support financial planning, analysis and performance management activities for Blue Origin’s New Glenn Business Unit. Named after groundbreaking astronaut John Glenn, New Glenn is a single-configuration partnership, heavy-lift launch vehicle capable of carrying people and payloads routinely to Earth orbit and beyond. Featuring a reusable first stage built for 25 missions, New Glenn will build a road to space.

Under the direct supervision of the New Glenn Finance Senior Manager, you will provide financial expertise and business partnership to program leaders across the New Glenn Program. As a self-starter and effective communicator, you will represent the New Glenn finance organization within various programs and cross-functional communities, including Engineering, Supply Chain, Production, and Mission Management. In this hands-on position, you will work with diverse sets of internal and market-based data and apply fundamentals in finance and accounting to build models that facilitate operational and strategic decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive financial performance by developing and analyzing operating and financial metrics, and communicating insights to senior leadership.
  • Support annual and financial planning activities by anticipating business changes, aligning key partners on inputs, and ensuring accurate data in financial systems.
  • Analyze projects and business cases in areas such as R&D, supply chain, and mission operations to assess returns and risks.
  • Monitor existing investment decisions and performance in the selected scope of the program.
  • Assist with month-end close processes, including analyzing and reporting financial results and ensuring accurate accounting entries.
  • Collaborate with the Program Planning and Cost team to develop and analyze cost performance measurement baselines, including earned value management KPIs.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools and can quickly gain technical proficiency.
  • Advanced skills in financial modeling using Excel.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple large-scale projects and adjust priorities as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build professional relationships internally and externally.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic, and critical thinking skills, with a track record of delivering business value through innovative and analytical problem-solving.
  • High integrity, unquestionable ethics, and excellent judgment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field such as Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or STEM fields
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in an appropriate field such as Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or STEM fields
  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, engineering, or technology organizations with a high level of change management
