EPS scope includes power generation, storage, regulation, control, and distribution to vehicle subsystems and payloads. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration, and your dedicated commitment and detailed attention will further the cause of safe and repeatable spaceflight.

In this role, you will be responsible for the verification and validation campaign for the Electrical Power System. You will assess and support development of EPS functional and performance requirements, work directly with I&T (Integration & Test) engineers to establish subsystem test plans and procedures, work with component responsible engineers to generate hardware test campaigns, and manage the traceability between requirements and test cases to verify subsystem performance and ensure safe and reliable operations in space. You should expect that this foundational part of our vision will require excellent communication and teamwork.

You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth.

We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop subsystem and component level verification and validation activity definitions including verification methods, expectations, and compliance criteria
  • Create verification matrices assessing compliance to subsystem and component level requirements
  • Work directly within integrated environments such as JAMA, DOORS, and DOORS Next Gen to manage requirements/verification traceability
  • Supporting system and lower-level requirements management, including change control, audits, and coordination with other teams
  • Track metrics against requirements, verification, and certification products
  • Coordinate and collaborate as needed to ensure alignment of V&V activities in accordance with V&V plan
  • Author rationale for non-compliances to gain customer disposition
  • Develop system-level verification closure products including preparation of Detailed Verification Objectives and Verification Closure Notices
  • Coordinate with Integration & Test teams to ensure test facilities (including integration labs) have the required capabilities per requirements definition
  • Track V&V activities to successful completion, which may include reviewing subsystem test plans and possible travel to test facilities when needed
  • Support the alignment, documentation, and consistent implementation of Lunar Permanence System engineering practices across applicable projects

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Preferred Qualifications:

  • M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical subject area
  • 4 years of space systems engineering or fungible experience in other highly complex industry areas (such as aerospace, medical, or automotive)

About Blue Origin

Blue Origin was founded in 2000 by Jeff Bezos with the vision to enable a future where millions of people are living and working in space to benefit Earth. Blue believes we must protect Earth by moving heavy industries that stress our planet into space, and enable humanity to access space to expand, explore, and find new energy and material resources. Then we can see a dynamic and abundant future for our grandchildrens grandchildren. There is no plan B for Earth. To enable this future, we must build a road to space to lower the cost of getting there. Blue is working on this today by developing... operationally reusable launch vehicles that are safe, reliable and highly available. Every launch vehicle is designed for human spaceflight from the beginning and able to ferry payloads to space. Join the mission to build a road to space - step by step ferociously. #GradatimFerociter More
