UNIVERSAL ASSOCIATE BANKER

Department: Retail Banking

Reports to: Business Acquisition Manager

Summary: Provides customers with exceptional financial support and advice while ensuring the highest levels of service delivery. Conducts all retail banking financial transactions and cross-sells bank products and services with the goal of deepening relationships. Leverages the bank’s service and sales culture to increase customer engagement. Is professional, knowledgeable, and capable of working face-to-face with customers to address complex financial needs. Is technologically savvy as it relates to Bank services. Displays a commitment to the community and to meeting the Bank’s objectives.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two years banking or retail experience with an emphasis on sales and customer service or;
• College degree, with a minimum of one year of banking, retail, or equivalent experience.
• Strong customer service, sales, interpersonal, and communication skills; ability to remain positive and customer focused at all times.
• Must have the ability to work flexible hours and travel to various branch locations, as staffing requires, for unspecified periods.
• Proficient with computers and the use of various programs and software applications, including Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
• Cash handling experience preferred.

Specific Job Functions:

• Consistently provides quality customer service by demonstrating our service/sales relationship building behaviors.
• Evaluates and identifies financial needs and presents appropriate products/services to meet those needs.
• Opens new accounts and related products/services (e.g., debit card, direct deposit, etc.)
• Processes all financial transactions (e.g., cash/check deposits, withdrawals, etc.)
• Participates in branch activities and events planned by Branch Management.
• Practices behaviors that are focused on achieving individual and team goals.
• Identifies customers’ financial needs and cross-sells bank products and services to meet those needs. Advises customers on promotional products and services.
• Performs all teller related duties, including managing a cash box.
• Performs all activities related to the processing of various types of accounts and ensures compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Performs all activities related to the servicing and processing of IRAs.
• Processes incoming mail transactions and night depository deposits as outlined in Policies and Procedures.
• Participates in business development efforts as assigned.
• Competently and confidently teaches and demonstrates self-service options to customers.
• Maintains open lines of communication with Branch Management.
• Addresses internal and external inquiries relating to bank products and services, transactions, and policies and procedures.
• Supports and completes ITM/ATM daily proof; replenishes cash under dual control; ensures the ITM/ATM is in working order and adequate supplies are available for customer use.
• Maintains confidentiality of customer information by complying with the Privacy Policy; complies with established policies and procedures when responding to inquiries and requests.
• Promotes the security and safety of all employees and customers by complying with the Security Program.
• Accurately prepares documents required for special services, such as ACH transactions and wire transfers.
• Remains current on and implements all bank policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct and Social Media Policy.
• Assists customers with entry to their safe deposit boxes, ensuring strict adherence to all bank policies and procedures.
• Assists branch management in performing and/or conducts monthly audits, certifications, proofs, reconciliations, filing, scanning, and other duties as assigned as outlined in the Policy and Procedures.
• Assists in other areas of the bank/branch as required.
