JOB OVERVIEW :

Have fork lift certification and be able to learn how to operate the arm slinger for unloading belly dumpers.

RESPONSIBILITIES : JOB SUMMARY

JOB SUMMARY

Weighs and provides proper documentation for Grower Deliveries as well as in plant and inter-warehouse transfers. Responsible for collecting samples of product and the flow of almonds to storage locations while ensuring that schedules are met.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Weighs and issues proper documentation for Grower deliveries as well as in plant and inter-warehouse transfers to and from all receiving stations in California.

Coordinates flow of almonds to storage locations and inter-warehouse transfers. Coordinates workflow with other scale operators.

Must meet schedules and deadlines of drivers with transfers.

Responsible for sample collection as needed and variety classification is essential. Must keep almond varieties separate.

Job is fast paced and requires accuracy.

Knowledge of barcode system and inventory transactions may be required. Responsible for movement, storage, documentation, and inventory of incoming and outgoing product.

Will be required to perform inventory duties.

Responsible for various documents and reports Knowledge of truck scales procedures. Must be able to perform Silo and Levee Bin Tender duties.

Must understand Blue Diamond line certification, HACCP processes and auditing, Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMPs) and safety practices.

Forklift certification preferred and ability to operate forklift with attachments (Turn a box). Forklift Licensing may be required.

Position requires the ability to work in noisy areas with exposure to heat, cold, and dust. Must be constantly alert to pedestrians and other vehicles in the area.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum level of education required.

High School Diploma or GED

Minimum number of year(s) of experiencerequiredin addition to education plus type(s) of functional experience.

Other required type(s) of functional experience (e.g., Production / Operations, Accounting, Forklift Operator, Inventory Control, etc.)

Position requires excellent communication skills and a basic understanding of machine operations. Must be able to climb up and down ladders and catwalks.

Must be able to identify and solve problems independently, coordinate workflow and meet output standards.

Works under general supervision. Follows set procedures, and schedules for job duties. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by supervisor.

Must be able to work overtime and weekends, as necessary.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES(Specialized education, specific software experience, etc.)

Prior experience as a truck scale attendant preferred.

Forklift drivers experience and certification

On shift employee is constantly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms including unloading belly dumpers.

The position involves sitting, walking, and lifting less than 10 pounds for long periods of time throughout the day.
