The Ground Hand is responsible for assisting the team in building, repairing, and maintaining overhead electrical distribution systems.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Assist journeyman or apprentice lineman in performing required work.
• Assist in overhead and underground line construction, maintenance, and other miscellaneous semi-skilled work.
• Assist with groundwork, perform traffic control work, maintain tools and material on the truck in good order and drive all-terrain vehicles.
• Setting and anchoring poles as well as setting and installing overhead structures.
• Assists crew in removing facilities, preparing cable for pulling, climbing ladders, working in trenches, framing poles and building cross arms.
• Operate vehicles and equipment in a professional manner.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Must be willing to work flexible shifts with extended hours.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Must have valid driver's license and good driving record.
• CDL preferred.
