Blount Memorial Hospital is Hiring a MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST/TECHNICIAN Near Maryville, TN

JOB SUMMARY
- Performs laboratory procedures under the general supervision of Laboratory Management and Section Chiefs, approved by the Laboratory Director or his designee, for which he/she has been oriented/trained and found competent.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Education and/or experience: Must have the education, training and certification required for licensure by the State of Tennessee.
  Knowledge: Knowledge necessary to complete the on the job orientation through the laboratory sections they are hired/assigned to work; must have the basic scientific and mathematical knowledge required to interpret laboratory findings.
  Skills: Computer skills sufficient to operate multiple operational systems. Sufficient mechanical skills to operate, troubleshoot, and repair laboratory instruments and/or follow directions to troubleshoot and/or repair laboratory instruments. Must be able to take over a laboratory process/procedure begun by another. Good verbal and written communication skills.
  Abilities: Must have the ability to function as part of a work team. Able to provide leadership in an acceptable manner to subordinate personnel. Able to multitask and prioritize multiple demands. Able to respond professionally in emergency situations. Must have good problem solving skills.
