Bloomington Developmental Learning Center is looking to expand our support staff team for the summer (and beyond if interested!). As a support staff (teaching aide) at BDLC, you would work alongside our full-time teachers in infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms. This is a wonderful part-time position for college students focusing on Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Psychology, Human Development and Family Studies, and more!

Our available shifts for support staff are Monday through Friday 8-10:30am, 1-3pm, and 3-6pm. The shifts are very flexible to fit around your class schedule if taking summer courses.

Your main responsibilities would be assisting the full-time teachers in the health and safety aspects of the daily care of children ages 6 weeks to five years old, as well as assisting with our play-based, child-led developmentally appropriate curriculum.

These responsibilities include:

• Diapering and assisting with potty turns
• Meal prep and serving
• Engaging with children one-on-one and in group play
• Assisting teachers with activities through out the day
• Assisting teachers in appropriately guiding children's social and emotional development

TB test, drug screen, and finger print background check are required upon hire.

Once hired, all staff must complete the following trainings with support from the center: Child and Abuse and Neglect, Safe Sleep, First Aid/CPR/Universal Precautions, Introduction to Early Childhood Modules 1-3, and Introduction to the Early Childhood Foundations.

BDLC is a non-profit childcare center with a wonderful sense of community. We have strong views and beliefs regarding the connection between adults and young children.
