Job Overview

The Shift Lead is responsible for leading team members in running an efficient operation. They contribute to the day-to-day operations of Colada Shop, help maintain high store standards and conditions, and help foster a positive environment.

The Shift Lead is also responsible for supporting all team members to exceed business goals.

Essential Functions

Customer Service :

• Fosters and promotes a strong work culture and upholds both Bloomingdales and Colada Shop brand service standards.
• Fully understands the Colada Shop ethos and serves as a brand ambassador, both internally and externally.
• Continuously supports the team to provide exceptional customer experience.

Operations :

• Opens or closes storefront; Completes opening or closing checklist, as applicable.
• Able to perform all POS functions, including opening and closing procedures, comps, voids and transfers.
• Completes daily shift report, to include financial reports, staff performance, guest issues, and repair and maintenance needs.
• Is knowledgeable with troubleshooting any and all equipment and communicates with store managers any non-resolved issues.
• Attends FOH meetings periodically with Store Manager.
• Ensures storefront, FOH and BOH are clean and appealing to guests.
• Assists with staff communication.
• Conducts DOH walk-throughs multiple times per day when on duty to ensure DOH compliance; Elevates all DOH violations immediately to Management.
• Promotes and practices safe work habits; Identifies and communicates potential safety hazards; Ensures accidents are documented following proper procedures.
• Monitors inventory and restocks as needed; Communicates products / supplies as needed to Management; Assists with new strategies to keep location stocked;

Assists Management in running inventory.

• Provides feedback on guest experience to Management and proactively completes other duties as assigned by Management.
• Assists in maintaining 100% compliance with all relevant policies; EEO, labor, HR, wage and food safety laws and regulations.
• Assists with team onboarding and ongoing training.
• Is an expert in all FOH and BOH stations and monitor standards are kept.
• Supports BOH as needed to provide excellent service to guests.
• Monitors daily call-outs, performance and tardiness; Makes schedule changes based on business levels.

Qualifications and Competencies

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 1-2 years direct experience
• Health department license or certification, Food Handlers, and / or alcohol certification as required by state or local requirement.
• Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers.
• Resourceful self-starter, works well independently as well as part of a team, and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and / or holidays.

Essential Physical Requirements

• Position requires prolonged periods of standing / walking around store or department.
• May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling and stooping.
• Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register and ability to process register transactions.
• Frequently lift / move up to 25lbs.
