Job Overview:
The Alterations Supervisor will oversee and supervise the alterations process in stores; role modeling high quality tailoring techniques and customer interactions. They drive production, quality control and workflow of high volume garments daily. The Alterations Supervisor will guide the Alterations Team to help the customer look great and feel wonderful about his or her new purchase. Fitting the garment to the customer is the final step in closing the sale, so alterations play a key role in our business. You will be responsible for working on both men's and women's garments.
Essential Functions:
Create an in-store easy seamless and fun experience through greeting and engaging all customers and providing a genuine and friendly interaction
Communicate daily with the workroom team delivering timely feedback to ensure quality standards are met
Maintain an efficient workflow within the workroom to produce customers' alterations according to promise dates, and timely completion of inventory repairs
Maintain optimum quality of the work that is equal to or better than the original garment construction to be completed in the workroom
Capable of ongoing training and development of the tailors to further enhance and improve their skill levels
Ability to use all alterations equipment (pressers, sewing machines, etc.) appropriately and safely
Qualifications and Competencies:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
3-5 years direct experience
Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers
Resourceful and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities
Resourceful self-starter, works well independently as well as part of a team
Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays
Physical Requirements:
Position requires prolonged periods of standing/walking around store or department
May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping and color vision
Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register and ability to process register transactions
