Open Rank Without Tenure (WOT), Assistant Medical Director at Bloodworks NW - Department of Laboratory Medicine and PathologyUniversity of Washington: Academic Personnel: School of Medicine: Laboratory Medicine and Pathology Bloodworks Northwest (BWNW) and the University of Washington (UW) announces the availability of a physician position specializing in transfusion medicine. The Assistant Medical Director will provide coverage of BWNW laboratories including transfusion services and the Platelet immunology laboratory. Opportunities to help provide medical direction of the red cell and hemostasis genomics laboratories and the Blood Service department also exist. The Assistant Medical Director will provide education and mentoring to trainees rotating to Bloodworks Northwest, and actively assist with rotation structure and content for the UWMC pathology resident rotation at Bloodworks Northwest. Additional teaching includes shared Transfusion medicine didactics at UWMC. Positive factors for consideration include, but are not limited to, experience with hemostasis and hemostasis genomics case sign out. Ability to obtain appointment in the University of Washington, School of Medicine, Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at the level of Assistant Professor Without Tenure, Associate Professor Without Tenure, or full Professor Without Tenure, due to reason of funding, is required.UW faculty demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism and engage in teaching, research, and clinical service. Please refer to Bloodworks Northwest for information about compensation for this position.Assistant Professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Associate and Full Professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.
