Summary

Block Institute's Article 16 Clinic currently provides a variety of services to people with developmental disabilities. These services include physical therapy, occupational therapy, psychiatry, psychotherapy (social work and psychology), and speech therapy. We are looking to add a New York State licensed Social Worker to our team. As a member of the Article 16 Clinic team, the fee for service Social Worker provides direct clinical services, including diagnostic assessment, individual psychotherapy, and crisis intervention to people diagnosed with developmental disabilities.

This is a Fee for Service position. $30 per 30 minute session.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrated excellence in diagnosis, including mastery of diagnostic nomenclature, and an understanding of best practices in diagnostic evaluations and psychotherapy is required.
• Provide evidence based treatment (CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, etc.) to people with developmental disabilities with a wide range of diagnoses.
• Manage caseload in a busy setting.
• Provide care in an interpersonally and culturally sensitive manner.
• Document care as prescribed by law and in accordance with best practices.
• Use of an electronic health record system to track appointments, document sessions, and create treatment plans.
• Maintenance of quality assurance and improvement activities.
• Coordinate with administrative staff and collaborate with clinic interdisciplinary team.
• Perform a variety of other job related responsibilities as requested.

Qualifications

• LCSW (or PhD in Psychology)
• Candidates will possess licensure in the state of New York.
• Three years of psychotherapy experience is required.
• Experience with OPWDD and/or people with disabilities is preferred.
• Vaccination against COVID is required.
