Description

Idaho Central Arena has served as the hub of downtown Boise’s sports and music entertainment since opening its doors in the fall of 1997, hosting an average of 100 events annually and welcoming 5.4 million attendees in 19 years. The arena is the home of Idaho Steelhead hockey and the Front Street Fights mixed martial arts brand. Over the years, Idaho Central Arena has hosted basketball, arena football, indoor soccer, Motocross, and gymnastics events. The arena also hosts numerous concerts, trade shows, and conventions each year in downtown Boise.

Fry Cook:

  • Prepare and cook a range of fried foods such as french fries, chicken tenders, onion rings, and other items as per the menu.
  • Set up and maintain fryer equipment, ensuring proper temperature and oil levels for consistent results.
  • Bread and batter food items according to established recipes and quality standards.
  • Monitor cooking times to ensure that fried items are cooked to perfection and maintain quality control.
  • Keep track of inventory and notify the kitchen manager when supplies are running low.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines to prevent accidents and maintain cleanliness in the fryer station.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth food service during busy periods.
  • Adhere to portion sizes and presentation standards for all fried menu items.
  • Clean and maintain fryer equipment, ensuring it remains in optimal working condition.

Prep Cook:

  • Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and preparing sauces.
  • Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruits.
  • Measure and assemble ingredients according to recipes and menu specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, including proper storage of ingredients and utensils.
  • Assist with receiving, inspecting, and storing food deliveries, ensuring quality and freshness.
  • Help with inventory management by restocking ingredients and notifying the kitchen manager of any shortages.
  • Follow proper food safety and hygiene practices, including handwashing and wearing appropriate protective gear.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely preparation of menu items.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment regularly to meet sanitation standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not always required, as training may be provided.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality dishes.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects when needed.
