As a Lead Product Manager for Overwatch 2, you will have a critical role in designing and optimizing player rewards, analyzing gameplay metrics, and leading the overall business operations for Overwatch 2. You will use your extensive product management expertise and deep understanding of the gaming industry to deliver an engaging and profitable player experience. This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the strategic vision and strategy for Overwatch 2's reward system, aligning it with the overall game experience and business goals.
  • Collaborate closely with game designers, engineers, artists, and UX/UI specialists to define and prioritize reward system features and mechanics.
  • Drive shop planning and optimize both content plans and Battle Pass design.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to understand player preferences, industry trends, and best practices for reward systems in games.
  • Define the structure and progression of the reward system, including the acquisition and distribution of in-game rewards, such as cosmetics, currency, and exclusive content.
  • Drive the development and implementation of the reward system, ensuring it is user-friendly, balanced, and aligned with the game's economy.
  • Analyze player feedback, gameplay data, and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of the reward system and identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct A/B tests and other experiments to evaluate the impact of gameplay changes on player behavior and monetization.
  • Work closely with the finance, marketing, and publishing teams to develop and execute the business strategy for Overwatch 2, including pricing, monetization models, and sales promotions.
  • Collaborate with the Live Operations team to design and execute in-game events, promotions, and activities that enhance the reward system and engage the player community.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and PR teams to develop messaging, positioning, and communication strategies related to the reward system.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, player preferences, and regulatory guidelines related to reward systems, ensuring compliance and driving innovation.

What you bring to the table

Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience in product management within the gaming industry with a focus on reward systems or progression systems or management consulting
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and metrics to make data-driven decisions and optimize the reward system
  • Consistent track record of successfully leading and delivering sophisticated projects on time and within scope
  • Excellent communication and social skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and partners
  • Passion for Shooter/first-person shooter games and a deep knowledge of the Overwatch franchise
  • Experience with live service games and a proven understanding of free-to-play business models
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $105,120.00 - $194,400.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
