Help a local nonprofit achieve it's mission. The primary job of the cashier is to help the Director pursue the mission of Blessings Abound: a Christian not-for-profit dedicated to helping those in need through the resale and redistribution of donated items.

This position needs to be friendly, confident, reliable, and able to multi-task effectively. The ability to function in a team environment is essential as Blessings Abound includes a large number of volunteers and paid staff. By nature, Blessings Abound has a lot of clutter. Individual needs to be comfortable in an environment with a tremendous variety of inventory.

Individual will help General Manager as needed, including primarily cashiering and other duties as assigned.

Duties

• Cashier. Most shifts are 4-6 hours.
• Some assistance with donation processing, cleaning and merchandising may be required
• The ability to work with volunteers and paid staff is essential to this position
• Other duties as assigned by General Manager or lead cashier

• This job operates in a retail environment, including work room donation processing

• Strong communication skills. Ability to deal with customers and volunteers from all walks.
• Accurate money-handling
• Respectful of all people, including donors, shoppers and volunteers. Energized by positive people interaction.
• Interest in working for a not-for-profit is helpful
• Trustworthy to handle high-value collectibles.
• A goal orientation and competitive spirit is helpful.
• A high school diploma is required.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing and walking. The Support position includes regular physical movement and handling of donations.

Other Requirements

• Current store hours are 9am-6pm M-F, 9am-6pm SAT. This position is expected to coordinate store coverage with Staff.
• Typical shifts either 9am-2pm or 2pm-6pm M-F. Sat 9am - 2pm or 2 - 6pm
• Saturday availability essential
• Reliable transportation
• Attendance is an essential function of this position
• Individual may be involved in customer issues and complaint resolution

This position is part-time, including approximately 20-30 hours per week.
