Job Purpose:

To accurately and completely take and serve food and beverage orders, efficiently serve food and beverages to customers and attend to customers' needs. The job of a cashier includes a wide range of tasks and duties with responsibilities that are core to the functioning of the resturant. Cashiers are frontline staff and are key to the success of the lounge as they are responsible for meeting the customers' needs and expectations.

Job Functions:

Greet, assist, and help customers select food and beverages by presenting the menu, suggesting items, explaining the specials of the day/week, identifying and offering appropriate beverages, and answering food preparation questions

Take food and beverage orders in a timely and accurate manner at the walk-up order station(s)

Enter orders into the POS system, accept payment, and issue bills/receipts

Collaborate with other restaurant kitchen, busser, and bar staff

Perform a mandatory check of identification of customers to ensure they meet the minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcohol products and hookah services

Available for additional duties, which may include escorting guests to tables, setting up and clearing tables, operating a cash register, side work, food preparation, and running food to tables as needed

Maintain possession of sales receipts (cash and charges) for accuracy of accounting for sales at the end of your shift

Must be able to learn and describe food proficiently

Prepare standard mixed drinks and occasionally are asked to mix drinks to suit a customer's taste

Assist in ordering and maintaining an inventory of liquor, mixes, and other relatable supplies

Ensure stocking of serving ware, cups, and utensils for necessary and continuous operations for serving

Maintain a clean work area by assuring trash and beverage buckets are emptied into the appropriate receptacles

Protects establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies

Handle complaints or problems with a positive attitude

Cashiers must be familiar with the menu, how things are prepared, what they taste like, and if special requests are allowed. They need to be informed daily about specials and special events.

Assist other staff members in deep cleaning periodically

Requirements - Knowledge and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED

Food Handling Training – Required for all servers, if hired

Alcohol Server Training – Required for all cashiers, if hired

Knowledge of inventory management

Experience in a restaurant/fast food atmosphere

Proven customer service and serving experience

Hands on experience in cashier duties

Knowledge of hygiene and sanitation standards

Able to fluently read and speak English language

Basic computer skills are required in order to operate POS (cash registers) systems and basic math skills

Flexible and willing to work different schedules, including weekends

Able to lift up to 40 pounds

Able to stand and walk for long periods of time

Attention to cleanliness and safety
