Role Description:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced School Psychologist for a contracted position in New Britain, CT. The School Psychologist will work full-time onsite at a middle school, providing comprehensive psychological services to students and collaborating with educators, parents, and other professionals to support student learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive, academic, social, and emotional functioning.
  • Interpret assessment results and provide recommendations to inform educational planning and interventions.
  • Provide individual and group counseling to students to address social-emotional concerns and promote mental well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to develop and implement intervention strategies and behavior management plans.
  • Participate in the development and review of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Conduct functional behavioral assessments and assist in the development of behavior intervention plans (BIPs) as needed.
  • Monitor student progress and outcomes, adjusting interventions and supports as necessary to promote student success.
  • Provide consultation and support to school staff and parents on a range of topics related to student behavior, learning, and mental health.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessment results, progress notes, and other documentation in accordance with professional standards and district policies.

Qualifications:

  • Active licensure and certification as a School Psychologist in the state of Connecticut
  • Previous experience working as a School Psychologist in a school-based setting
  • Strong understanding of psychological principles, assessment tools, and intervention strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Dedication to promoting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of all students
