Job Description:

In your position as Senior Communications Specialist, you will support a federal transformation office charged with migrating to a new grant management system service provider. You will also support:

  • Effective Corporate Communication Strategies
    • Craft compelling narratives that align with our brand and business objectives.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create targeted communication plans.
    • Ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
  • Internal Communications
    • Draft and distribute internal memos, newsletters, and announcements.
    • Facilitate communication between departments and teams.
    • Keep employees informed about company updates and initiatives.
  • Content Creation
    • Write and edit content for press releases, company website, training, and other media platforms.
    • Create engaging materials that resonate with the audience.
  • Event Planning and Media Relations
    • Organize initiatives, press conferences, training, and events.
    • Liaise with media outlets, handle interview requests, and manage external communications.
  • Advocacy and Relationship Building
    • Foster relationships with industry influencers, stakeholders, and key partners.
    • Collaborate with marketing professionals to produce impactful copy for advertisements and articles.
  • Crisis Management
    • Handle negative publicity and implement damage control strategies.
    • Resolve disputes with the public or external vendors.
Require Skills:
  • Public Trust Clearance required.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 5-8 years proven experience as a communications specialist.
  • Familiarity with corporate communications and project management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Photo and video-editing software experience.
  • Outstanding organizational and planning abilities.
  • Training development and delivery experience, including instructional design.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Desired Skills:
  • Web design and content production knowledge is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience doing communications on a successful system implementation at the Federal agency level.
