Blair Senior Services, Inc., a non-profit Area Agency on Aging, is seeking qualified applicants to serve as the first point of contact for individuals calling to report suspected cases of abuse, neglect, abandonment or exploitation for Pennsylvania residents over the age of 18. We are currently looking to fill a full-time position working 10 am-6pm Monday-Friday. Following the initial training that will take place in our Altoona, PA office, employees will work primarily from home.

Successful candidates will collect required information from the caller, enter the required information into a database, and forward the information to the appropriate Agency for follow-up and investigation of the allegation being reported. There are no sales or cold-call duties associated with this position, no monthly quotas and no rotating shifts; rather, the successful candidate will be contacted directly by those seeking assistance. This position requires a cooperative, compassionate and sympathetic listener who has a genuine empathy and respect for individuals seeking assistance.

Qualified applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of customer service experience is preferred. The successful candidate must be patient, kind and empathetic with the caller and be consistent in dealing with repetitive routines working under strict timeframes. Candidates must be advanced with their computer skills and able to work using multiple software systems in order to complete required data entry tasks. Providing professional and outstanding customer service is of utmost importance.

The starting hourly wage is $13.16 - $15.79, depending on experience. We offer an excellent benefit package that includes a generous amount of paid time off available immediately upon hire for both full-time and part-time employees, a retirement plan with an annual contribution rate of 7.5% beginning on the first anniversary date, and the option to participate in the Agency’s group health insurance plan with a low monthly premium.
