Blackstone Valley Prep (BVP) Mayoral Academy is now hiring rockstar team members who are willing to do whatever it takes to put all scholars on a path to college. Expectations of a BVP Team Member include (but are not limited to):

• Acts on the belief that 100% of scholars can be successful in college and the world beyond
• Recognizes and celebrates diversity of educators, scholars, families, and other stakeholders by demonstrating respect for all perspectives while actively working to build an equitable school community
• Is results driven, with excellent planning and organizing skills, and a “do whatever it takes” attitude and work ethic
• Engages meaningfully in school and network professional growth opportunities and enhances professional growth by giving and seeking assistance from other team members
• Acts ethically and with integrity while following all school, network, and state policies

Additionally, Social Workers are expected to:

• Collaborate with scholars, families, external agencies, and other members of the BVP team
• Create a strong scholar culture and support character development
• Keep impeccable records of all school-related actions and initiatives involving counseling needs
• Develop strong relationships with community-based organizations that can support the school, scholars, and families
• Serve as a liaison between scholars/families and local social service agencies as needed

Qualifications:

• A master's degree is required for the proper certification.
• Bilingual candidates strongly preferred, but not required
• Successful applicants must hold an appropriate Rhode Island certification and LCSW licensure by their date of hire. Rhode Island offers reciprocity with over 30 states across the country. Learn more here.

Compensation/Professional Growth:

BVP offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position, and a comprehensive medical and dental plan that covers 80% of the employee premium. Other benefits include short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, professional development and tuition reimbursement opportunities, referral bonuses, and a 401(k) retirement plan that is 100% vested immediately with an employer match of 5%.
