Description

Goals

-Work closely with Superintendent and 1st Assistant in managing crew through daily maintenance tasks

-Assist in managing and applying applications of chemicals/fertilizers

-Develop a sense of ideal course conditions through water management and irrigation repair (use of hand watering, syringing, as well as the irrigation system)

-Be involved with golf course projects

Responsibilities

-Setting up the golf course for play; cutting cups, emptying trash, moving tee markers, aligning signs and ropes

-Monitoring water and watering schedule with use of moisture meter and hose work

-Keeping an eye on inventories and storage of chemicals and equipment

-Work to ensure daily work schedules go as planned, and have insight to make adjustments as needed

Requirements

Education Requirements

-Certificate in turf grass science is preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate to work toward a certificate/degree

Experience Requirements

-At least 2 years of golf course maintenance experience or related field

-Knowledge of turf grass science, fertilizers, chemicals, mowers, and golf preferred

-Must possess or have the ability to obtain a CT pesticide applicators license

-Most possess a valid CT drivers license
