Responsibilities :
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients presenting with ear, nose, and throat symptoms, including medical history, physical examination, and diagnostic tests.
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of otolaryngological conditions, including ear infections, hearing loss, nasal congestion, sinusitis, tonsillitis, laryngitis, and swallowing disorders.
  • Perform specialized procedures and surgeries, such as tympanoplasty, mastoidectomy, septoplasty, rhinoplasty, tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, and endoscopic sinus surgery.
  • Evaluate and manage patients with balance and vestibular disorders, including vertigo and Meniere's disease.
  • Provide medical and surgical management of head and neck cancers, including biopsy, tumor excision, and reconstructive surgery.
  • Perform diagnostic tests and procedures, including audiometry, tympanometry, videostroboscopy, laryngoscopy, and flexible nasopharyngoscopy.
  • Prescribe medications, antibiotics, corticosteroids, and other pharmacological therapies to manage otolaryngological conditions and symptoms.
  • Administer allergy testing and immunotherapy for patients with allergic rhinitis and related conditions.
  • Collaborate with audiologists, speech-language pathologists, radiologists, oncologists, and other healthcare providers to coordinate multidisciplinary care for complex cases.
  • Provide patient education and counseling on preventive measures, lifestyle modifications, and treatment options to optimize outcomes and improve quality of life.
  • Stay updated on advancements in otolaryngology research, treatments, and technologies through continuing education and professional development activities.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and ethical standards governing otolaryngological practice.
  • Participate in community outreach initiatives, educational seminars, and screenings to promote ear, nose, and throat health and disease prevention.
  • Foster positive relationships with patients, addressing their concerns and providing compassionate care in a supportive environment.
Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an otolaryngology residency program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
  • Board certification or eligibility for board certification in otolaryngology by the American Board of Otolaryngology (ABO) or the American Osteopathic Board of Otolaryngology (AOBOO-HNS).
  • State medical licensure or eligibility for medical licensure to practice otolaryngology.
  • Strong clinical skills and proficiency in otolaryngological diagnosis, treatment, and procedural techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building rapport with patients and collaborating with healthcare colleagues.
  • Dedication to providing high-quality otolaryngological care with a focus on patient safety, satisfaction, and outcomes.
  • Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development in the field of otolaryngology.
