Farm laborer (Baxter Springs, KS)

Blackberry Moon Produce is a commercial vegetable farm located west of Baxter Springs KS. The farm focuses on high volume production and organic farm practices. Production is year-round including low intensity greenhouses.

Duties include:

Harvest, sort, and pack seasonal vegetables.

Assist in organic methods of pest and weed control.

Prepare fields for planting watering and season extension.

Operate small equipment and landscaping tools to carry out various projects

Qualifications:

A passion for local and sustainably produced food

A positive attitude

Ability to lift and carry 50lbs

Ability to perform tasks that require bending or kneeling for several hours

Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions

Ability to identify a variety of fruits and vegetables is preferred

Previous work experience in farm, nursery , landscaping or other physically demanding jobs preferred.

Availability:

Currently seeking applicants for 15 to 20 hours a week.

Schedule can be flexible with priority given to applicants with Thursday - Monday availability

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• Every weekend
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
• Year round work

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Farming: 1 year (Preferred)
