Description and Qualifications

The Assistant Dining Room Manager is responsible for leading and assisting the overall front-of-house operations team – in daily operations - in a fine dining, high-volume restaurant with a full-service, all-day bar to result in exceptional guest experiences. Top of Form

The Assistant Dining Room Manager is responsible for positive morale, team growth, development and ownership of a strong company culture to build and maintain a cohesive team.

This position requires previous successful experience as a supervisor or ADRM leading shifts in a fine dining restaurant. This position requires strong emotional maturity, organization, reliability and commitment to the success of the dining room.

The Assistant Dining Room Manager is expected to arrive at 2:00 p.m. daily unless the needs for the operations are earlier.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Onboarding of New Team Members through Dining Room Orientation
  • Staffing, Retention and Team Development:
    • Maintain a professional and positive, work environment that fosters teamwork, growth and development
    • Train staff to the BF service standards, foundations and culture to meet and exceed guest expectations
    • Provide active leadership, mentorship and performance feedback to team members to ensure consistency and growth through each position
  • Communication:
    • Communicate all company pertinent internal information
    • Communicate all menu changes (food and beverage) in line up and workplace
  • Daily Operations:
    • Coordinate staffing needs and floor plans for the day and set-up charts for the next day
    • Write Openings, Open DRM with the team, Line Up, Service, Closing with the Team
    • Oversee daily menu production – ensuring that menus are fully edited and proofed
  • Coordinate daily needs of both shifts to ensure proper coverage and care of guests
  • Service support to the bar during mid-day service and dinner service as needed
  • Attend weekly team meeting / Group Meetings /All Manager Meetings
  • The Look, Maintenance and Cleanliness of their restaurant

Must comply with all company policies and procedures.

To perform the essential functions of this position regular and consistent attendance in required.

Must be able to work well with other Team Members, Managers and interact with our guests.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Dining Room Supervisors and Line Level Team

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE

  • 2-3 years’ operational management or supervisory experience in upscale dining room
  • Knowledge of wine and spirits
  • Computer experience: word processing, spreadsheets, property management systems
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Strong listening and high interpretive skills
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, managers and team members

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Knowledge and understanding of property management cashiering procedures
  • Ability to understand and comprehend budgeting issues and labor calculation

REASONING ABILITY

  • Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to be on your feet long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to safely operate a company vehicle or golf cart

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Restaurant, Dining Room, Bar, Wait Staff and Kitchen
  • 4,200 acres of Blackberry Farm property
