Black River Memorial Hospital is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the full-time position of Certified Medical Assistant (CMA). The CMA assists with various patient duties including; assessing patient needs, answering questions, providing patient care; taking vitals and histories, giving injections, assisting with phone triage under the direct supervision of a provider, assisting with procedures, administering medications, patient education, scheduling patient appointments, and other duties as assigned. This position is:

Essential Duties:

• Maintains standards of excellence following standards set forth by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, the Compliance Team, the National Committee for Quality Assurance, and the policies and procedures of the organization.
• Utilizes an online scheduling system to schedule follow-up appointments and coordinate necessary tests or procedures in collaboration with other departments and healthcare facilities.
• Administers medications, immunizations, and performs lab draws as directed by the provider, and follows organizational procedures.
• Completes forms as needed for each physician/provider. Assists with obtaining necessary signatures on appropriate admissions and/or consents for treatments.
• Documents accurate and detailed information on patient visits. Enters patient charges into the Electronic Health Record system and makes sure documentation is complete and accurate.

Educational Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
• One to two years of experience in a clinic setting is preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required or able to complete within three months of hire
• Certification through AAMA, CCMA, AMT (registered), ARMA, or NCMA is required within three months of hire
• Knowledge of basic office procedures, equipment, and computer systems preferred
