Black Owl Recruiting is Hiring an Assisted Living Facility LPN Near Haverstraw, NY

Black Owl Recruiting is searching for a reliable and compassionate LPN for a very reputable client in the New York area. This will be a direct hire/permanent placement with a full-time schedule.

The Assisted Living Facility LPN responsibilities include performing direct patient care and monitoring their conditions, conducting tests, and writing reports for the physician. You should be able to address all the caregivers’ concerns and make appropriate adjustments to the patients’ in-home management plan. The location of the facility is in Haverstraw area of Rockland County, NY.

LPN Assisted Living Facility Responsibilities:

  • Medical Care: LPNs in assisted living facilities are responsible for providing basic medical care to residents under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or physician. This includes administering medications, injections, and other treatments as prescribed, as well as monitoring residents' vital signs and reporting any changes or concerns to the supervising healthcare professional.
  • Assessment and Monitoring: LPNs conduct regular assessments of residents' health status and contribute to the development of care plans based on individual needs. They monitor residents for signs of illness, injury, or changes in condition, and document observations accurately and promptly.
  • Assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): LPNs assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility. They may also provide assistance with eating and drinking for residents who require it.
  • Health Education: LPNs play a role in educating residents and their families about health-related topics, such as medication management, disease prevention, and healthy lifestyle choices. They may provide individualized education based on residents' specific needs and preferences.
  • Emergency Response: LPNs are trained to respond effectively to medical emergencies, including administering first aid, CPR, and other life-saving measures as needed. They collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure timely and appropriate interventions in emergency situations.
  • Communication: LPNs communicate regularly with residents, family members, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure that residents' needs are being met. They provide updates on residents' health status, progress, and any changes in care plans.
  • Medication Management: LPNs are responsible for managing and administering medications to residents according to prescribed schedules and dosages. They ensure that medications are stored securely and that residents receive them in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Compliance with Regulations: LPNs must adhere to all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures governing the operation of assisted living facilities and the provision of healthcare services. This includes maintaining accurate documentation, following infection control protocols, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Supportive Care: LPNs provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a safe and nurturing environment that promotes their overall well-being. They demonstrate empathy, patience, and respect for residents' individual preferences and dignity.
  • Team Collaboration: LPNs work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team, including RNs, certified nursing assistants (CNAs), therapists, and social workers, to coordinate holistic care plans and ensure continuity of care for residents.

LPN Assisted Living Facility Requirements:

  • Relevant license and certification.
  • A completed apprenticeship or experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent observational and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to follow instructions but also to act independently if necessary.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Active listening skills and empathy.
  • Physical and mental strength.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transport may be required.

Salary: From $38 - $40/hour (depends on experience)
