General Purpose: Perform centralized teller transactions for mail and business deposits and provide back up support MX Support Associate II duties.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  1. Process all transactional mail items.
  2. Process centralized business deposits.
  3. Provide support to ITM Tellers and Tellers credit union wide.
  4. Answer staff and member questions on errors and perform research on errors.
  5. Provide backup to MX Support Associate II to include:preparing and placing weekly cash order for ITMs, ATMs, and all BHFCU locations, balance department vault drawer daily, and assistwith vault cash level management at all branches, including managing the cash monitoring system.
  6. Remain current on changes within the legal, regulatory, economic, competitive and technology environments that may affect the teller function.
  7. Perform other duties as may be assigned by MX Operations Manager.

Other Duties/Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for knowing all aspects of daily teller operations.
  2. Review, prepare, and distribute periodic department and standardized reports, as directed by the MX Operations Manager.

Job Knowledge

  1. Working knowledge of all teller functions.
  2. Working knowledge of general ledger accounts pertinent to the department.
  3. Working knowledge of the credit union's products and services.
  4. Working knowledge of organization's policies/procedures and credit union's service philosophy.
  5. Working knowledge of safety and security program for false alarms, robberies, bomb threats and extortion.
  6. Working knowledge of credit union's in-house computer system / Internet.
  7. Working knowledge of opening and closing procedures.

  • Physical Mobility: Limited mobility required. Ability to lift minimum 30 lbs. (ATM cassettes, CDM cassettes, coin bags, etc.)

  2. Ability to interact positively with co-workers, management, and the public to promote a team effort and maintain a positive attitude even under extreme pressure.
  3. Ability to prepare and maintain confidential records and reports.
  4. Ability to produce a high volume of work in a timely manner that is accurate and of high quality. Ability to prioritize work. Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  5. Ability to analyze out of balance situations and devise solutions.
  6. Ability to work within precise standardized guidelines with some latitude to make decisions and take initiative to resolve problems or unique circumstances.

Job Qualifications (Education/Experience)

Job requires a high school level of language, math and reasoning skills. Two years experience in a related field with equal responsibilities is acceptable. Formal training should be supplemented with continuing education.

Work Environment/Physical Activities

Occasional travel to one of BHFCU’s branch locations or attendance at community events may be required.

Job requires limited physical effort. It is primarily a desk assignment. Work within a highly structured and closely supervised environment. Ability to function in a fast-paced area. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Work creates normal fatigue daily. Work creates moderate stress during certain periods during daily routine. The job calls for a high degree of mental concentration to interpret and act upon a wide range of situations. The job requires a degree of attention to detail.
