JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/ObjectiveBlack Diamond Advanced Technology (BDAT) is seeking an Mid. Level Electrical Engineer. This role will be responsible for the design, build, test, and support of rugged electronics for industrial and military applications with a potential focus on developing internal test equipment. • Assist with Developing and deriving requirements
• Develop conceptual designs in a timely manner - Block diagrams; Circuit System Analysis; Design breadboards
• Select components to meet requirements; Develop electrical schematics and supervise circuit board layout design; Organize, hold, and assist with peer and design reviews; Assist with develop of HW/SW ICD for software applications
• Conduct product testing - Develop, conduct, and document CCA level test plans; Assist in main assembly level test planning and design
• Support engineering build tasks as required
• Help develop process for performing tasks
• Production support -Assist in troubleshooting; Support manufacturing and failure review board activities
• Finish tasks in a timely and in allotted amount of time
• Minimal oversight required for completion of tasks; able to problem solve and address issues without re-direction
• Able to work multiple task simultaneously, accommodate shifting priorities and manage time accordingly
• Ability to create/assist and review product work instruction used on the production floor

Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

• This is a full-time position. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 
• BDATech observes a 9/80 schedule, meaning every other Friday is an off Friday.
• This position is 100% NON-Remote position.

TravelThis position has a possibility of traveling up to 10%.

Required Education and Experience

• BS or MS in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited program
• 5 years of electrical engineering experience
• High speed interface design (USB 3.0, USB 2.0, SATA, I²C, etc.)
• Power supply design (Switching supplies, LDO, etc.)
• Familiar with EMI (MIL-STD-461, FCC, CE Mark, etc.)
• Knowledge of the tools required to conduct the job; Oscilloscope, DMM, Power Supply, Load box, Spectrum Analyzer
• Intercept design tools or equivalent; Microsoft Office; Arena [configuration management]; Business Central or equivalent

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance
