The Operating Room at Alton Memorial Hospital is searching for a full-time position for RN for First Assistant to assist Providers during procedures. See additional information below for your reference.

• 8 hrs shift Mon- Fri. (7am - 3:30pm)
  • Call Schedule
    • Every 7th-8th weekend (7:00am Sat. - 7:00am Mon.)
    • 1 weekday a night (3:30pm - 7:00am)
    • Call response time 45min
• Sign-on bonus up to $15,000

Since 1937, Alton Memorial Hospital has cared for residents in Alton, Illinois, and the surrounding communities in a five-county area. Starting as a land gift to the community from the Smith family, Alton Memorial today is a full-service acute care hospital. Alton Memorial offers patients a variety of inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery services, medical imaging, interventional and diagnostic heart services, cancer care, rehabilitation, 24-hour emergency care, ambulance services and more.

The Operating Room is made up of 7 General rooms, one Cysto room, and one Minor procedure room. Staffed from 0700 till 1700 Monday-Friday with all other hours and days covered with a Call Crew.

Role Purpose

Performs an expanded perioperative role as a first assistant to surgeons during surgical procedures in the operating room. RNFA works alongside the surgeon to provide direct patient care. Works as a professional colleague with the perioperative team and collaborates with the patient-designated support person, and other health care providers when making decisions to plan care.
